Jackie Jackie (Spend the Winter with Me) Sally Shapiro
I thought so much about you that day
It was a perfect day
But I couldn’t enjoy it without you
I wish it didn’t mean so much
When I grabbed you by the hand
Sometimes I think too much about things
I think I give you too much time
But it feels like
I want to give to something back
For everything you mean to me
I want to give to something back
For everything you mean to me
Jackie Jackie
Spend this winter with me
Oh, Jackie Jackie
I just can’t make up your mind
Tonight, tonight we fly
Oh, Jackie Jackie
I still wait by the phone
Oh, Jackie Jackie
I don’t wanna be alone
So come along with me tonight
Why do I always end up
In situations that are bad for me?
How come I don’t fall in love
With normal people?
And why don’t normal people
Fall in love with me?
I don’t think I’m that strange
Do you think I’m strange?
I don’t intend to
It’s just that things very easily
Get complicated around me
It’s just that things very easily
Get complicated around me
Hey Jackie, please
Come with me
And you’ll see
That my love
Will take you high above, baby
Jackie Jackie
Spend this winter with me
Oh, Jackie Jackie
I just can’t make up your mind
Tonight, tonight we fly
Oh, Jackie Jackie
I still wait by the phone
Oh, Jackie Jackie
I don’t wanna be alone
So come along with me tonight

Indefinite Leave to Remain– Pet Shop Boys
I was lost
For so long
Feels like it’s taken
Half my life
To find
Where I belong
Seeing you here
You’re my nation
This is my application
Give me hope
Keep me sane
Give me
Indefinite leave to remain
All the worlds
That I saw
I went so far away
And still wanted you more
It may sound superficial
But can we make it official?
Give me hope
Keep me sane
Give me
Indefinite leave to remain
Tell me where I stand
What do you envision?
One way or another
Give me your decision now
Is it time
To proceed?
Will you give me a chance
And the status I need?
Seeing you here
You’re my nation
This is my application
Give me hope
Keep me sane
Give me
Indefinite leave to remain
For Monturiol

A Very Merryweather Christmas!
By eroica | December 24, 2009

Happy Holidays from the Fairy Godfather
A Very Merryweather Christmas
‘Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the castle
Not a creature was stirring,
except the mouse who was giving me a hassle.
And I in my fez and she in her bow
had gotten, I confess,
in a bit of a row.
Dandy had coughed up the tinsel
our pie was stolen as it cooled on the sill,
and the worst tragedy of all
it seemed Santa was ill!
“But who’ll bring the babies their presents?”
My wife asked of me.
“There will be nothing to give them–
no cheese ‘neath the tree!
We must go out tonight, you drive the sled
and I can break into homes
while they sleep in their beds.”
“But skweekheart,” I answered,
“that simply won’t do,
I’m a Vampire and by morning
we’ll never be through!”
So we both thought together
for an idea most clever
and exclaimed together:
“Let’s ask Mr. Merryweather!”
But it seems that we weren’t the only ones scheming,
for on the other side of the island
Jackie was giving Jack Frost a good reaming:
“But Jack,” she whined,
with a pout on her face
“You said we were gonna
take over this place!”
So Jack grabbed his keys,
but his ice cream truck wouldn’t start,
then Jackie hit him with a snowball
that was beginning to smart.
“I have a brilliant Idea!”
he said with a grin,
“We’ll use Auggie’s old truck,
load it up tip to brim!
Then we’ll toss up the biggest snowball
that you’ve ever seen
and make a blizzard
fit for my snow queen!”
Jackie clapped her hands
and laughed with delight,
then off they snuck,
in the dead of night.
Meanwhile …
August stroked his mustache
“I like this idea,”
he said with a laugh.
The men’ll want grills,
the women, a new bow!
The bad kids will get
briquettes of charcoal!”
Then he winked at my wife
and I swear she did swoon
but off he was rushing
’round the room.
A coonskin cap
on his head he did place,
he didn’t see me
with a frown on my face.
“It works really well,
I’m marryin’ Santa’s baby girl!
I’ll ask for the keys to his sleigh,
been wanting to take that for a whirl!”
Down at the Jolly Pinecone
on this night so fine,
the boys sat around,
wishing over Pine-shine.
“I’d like a new banjo,”
Pansy said with a giggle
“A new sword for Jambes,”
the frog said with a wriggle,
and then took his toothpick,
with all his might,
slayed a pickle to cheers all ’round–
Jambes won the fight!
Across the street
Ze Baron worked late
fixing a doll
so that she could skate.
And on top of the hill,
in the rundown pink house
Chauncy paced up and down
swearing revenge on a mouse.
Pretty Pansy just sighed
and gave him a kiss,
hoping for those new stockings and garters
she put on Santa’s list.
As for the Nuts,
havoc wrecked through the room
because, you see,
it was a full moon!
Papa Wolfsbane had skipped out
of his flea dip
and eaten the stockings
with one stealthy nip.
“Oh Dad,” Hazel said,
shaking his head,
“you’re in the doghouse now,
Mom won’t let you sleep in her bed!”
Mother rolled her eyes
and looked at the maid.
Who sat in the corner,
looking wet and afraid.
Down the lane whistled
a fellow in blue
coming from a ball
(can you guess who?)
Mistletoe on his hat
his face covered in kisses,
bringing pockets of cookies
to his favorite Fishus!
What more could he want
he had everything!
And inside his pocket
a little green ring…
Where was I now?
I’ve forgotten the plot,
oh yes, Mr. Merryweather
took off like a shot.
In Daddy Kringle’s sleigh,
the son in law drove,
when out of nowhere
Jack’s frosty pickup truck dove.
Jackie stuck out her tongue.
Holly Berry winked.
Jack put on his signal to turn
which got stuck as it blinked.
“Merryclaus,” Jackie yelled
“get out of the way!”
“No way darlin’,
I’m busy savin’ the day!”
Jack blasted the horn
which got stuck in the cold,
playing “Dixie” so loud
it put everything on hold.
Jack groaned as they sputtered
and ran out of gas,
It wouldn’t be long before his brother
would pass.
But just then
the fog got so thick
the two almost collided
against a chimney of brick.
“Whoa whoa,” said August,
“you three get in here,
we’ll do this together
so we can finish before New Year!”
So everyone climbed in
as Missy Kringle rearranged her frills,
then Jackie made a face
“He’s giving out grills?”
“This fog is too thick!” “This ain’t right!”
But Missy just smiled with
Mousieur holding Godpa’s wand tight.
“Well, that’ll do nicely,”
Merryclaus said with a grin,
“Light the way little fella,
let Christmas begin!
On Moses! On Batley!
On Snowflake! On Dandy!
Light the way, Mousieur,
let’s bring the children their candy!”
So they flew through the night
not a house did they miss!
As we watched in amazement,
my mouse gave me a kiss.
Our idea had worked well
as anyone could see.
There would be presents for the children
ripe cheese ‘neath the tree!
And we heard them exclaim
as they flew around town:
“A very Merryweather Christmas to all
…I hope we can bring this thing down!”
~The End~
This little story is dedicated to the people who have inspired me so much this year, my dear friends, muses and of course, my wonderful Alex. And a birthday dedication to that Maus who helped me populate half the Island this year with so many fun new characters. Happy Holidays to everyone!

The Fairy Godfather and the Little Prince
This was done for a watch face, a gift to my dear friend and apprentice, Penny! The Fairy Godfather is my character, of course, and The Little Prince is loosely based on the wonderful book of the same name by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Forbidden Kiss
She was the sun
Shining upon
The tomb of your hopes and dreams so frail
He was the moon
Painting you
With it’s glow so vulnerable and pale
